One of our most inspirational young patients, Charlie Fearns needs our help!
Charlie is 11 years old and has been fighting cancer since he was just 3 years old. He relapsed for a third time in April 2016, this time returning to the brain when he was diagnosed with ALL CNS relapse. Unfortunately there is no option left in the UK for Charlie.
In September Charlie had a pioneering new treatment in Seattle's children's hospital, called a CAR-T transplant. Sadly, Charlie has lost persistence of T cells in February 2017 meaning that the transplant failed. He now urgently needs to get to Seattle for a second infusion.
Charlie's family, friends and our local community have already gotten right back to planning events to raise money towards the £150,000 needed to get him back to Seattle.
The Charlie's Chance Foundation is attending weekly car boot sales, and our South Road practice is a drop off point for anything you may have to donate for this.
This is where you come in. Every item you drop off at our practice, no matter how big or small will go towards funding this life saving treatment to give Charlie a future.
We are also collecting raffle prizes for the fun day being held at Charlie's school, Waterloo primary School, on Saturday 1st April. If anybody can donate anything for this to be given away as a prize, we know the family would be thrilled.
It really is a race against time to get the funds raised, so please, if you can, give generously.
